About Me

Hello and Welcome to Mapping The World.

I am Aryaman Sheth, a 22 year old who loves to travel. Originally from Mumbai, India, I am currently working and living in Chicago, Illinois.

This blog is my first step in taking the leap and exploring whether or not travel full-time, is for me.

I am so glad that you have joined me on my journey.

Why Am I Doing This and Why Now?

Why Now? Well, I believe clarity has brought me to this answer. There was a period following spring break, I have just been calm and stress free. It was the first time in months, maybe even a few years that I was actually thinking clearly.

As for why am I doing this? The answer is simple - Travel has never left me. Yes, it has alluded me for a few years but, never left. I have been blessed and bubbled in my travels, but for me a trip was never just another holiday – each destination, each experience resembled an opportunity. I never knew the significance of this, but it has been building ever since I could work my way around a globe or map, anything to do with the world and it piques my interest. Travelling has an aura of reinvention and mystery to it, the mystery and allure is provided by the destination but, the reinvention or recreation is of oneself and what the individual takes or is given by the destination and the journey.

I think the biggest question, however, is the one I am still answering – why am I sharing and writing about my travels? In truth this blog is for me, it is for me to explore, to take the ‘plunge’ and evaluate whether or not this is the life for me.

For you however, this blog is meant to be all about travel – what I hope to embody through it is the journey of a wannabe traveler finding his way by channeling his passion into life.

The journey is meant to be raw in every way. I want it to be passionate, angry, happy, frustrating, funny, but overall, I just want it to be ME and my journey.

This journey is starting with a step, and this blog is it.
